If dropping Kerney means getting Hill back, go for it. If you have enough talent at Linebacker you don't need amazing pass rushers at defensive end. They can be guys like Jackson and Tapp.
But seriously, if it allows Hill to be a Seahawk, I'm all for it.
I doubt we will even take a QB anyways. I see us taking a RB and whatever position comes up that needs to be addressed. Maybe Kerney will need to be replaced, maybe a safety, maybe a cornerback.
QB has probably already been addressed with the guy we drafted this year. Most teams don't like...
I doubt they would have him miss 6 weeks unless he was going to miss a majority of the weeks due to the injury and not due to the PUP being put on him.
How can a surgery to remove bone chips make him miss such a long time?
He'll be in when we need a big return near the end of a game. Most of the time it will be either Forsett, Butler or Wilson.
I like Butler and Wilson over Forsett...just because I like their speed.
Julius Jones isn't washed up. He has talent, just needs a line and some more carries. I'll go ahead a call it, 1,000+ yards rushing and 10-15 TDs. :D
EJ is a washed up RB and won't do much for any team.
Right now that's the plan, but it could change when the 2010 Draft rolls around.
I'd expect the QB to drafted with our pick (it's going to be 29-32) and if there isn't anyone good there we will probably wait until the 2nd to get one. I just don't see Ruskell throwing that much money into a QB...
And Burleson has decent speed and so does Housh, so it looks like we have a lot of weapons for Hasselbeck. Two tall, mid-speed and two shorter, "speedster" guys.
I think he will be, but not right away. Maybe later on in the season or a few games in he will be able to play. Or maybe even sooner if he can impress the coaching staff enough and learn the plays quick enough too.
I'm not exactly sure where Burleson/Housh/Branch will go though. I can see...
Offense:
QB - Matt Hasselbeck
FB - Owen Schmitt
RB - Julius Jones
(RB2 - Justin Forsett, RB3 - T.J. Duckett)
WR1 - T.J. Houshmandzadeh
WR2 - Deion Branch (Slot)
WR3 - Nate Burleson
(WR4 - Deon Butler, WR5 - Ben Obamanu, WR6 - Michael Bumpus)
TE - John Carlson
LT - Walter Jones
LG - Mike Wahle

$6 million a year sounds good to me. 6 years worth $36 million or 5 years worth $30 million.
The funny thing is that I think Locklear is making $5 Million a year. :o
I think it's an alright pickup, but Schmitt is a good FB if you give him a chance. He had a great career at West Virginia and just needs some playing time to prove it. This might just be a move to let Schmitt improve on some things like receiving better.
Ken Lucas is a great pickup, but Griffith doesn't make much since. I think Schmitt can handle the FB spot just fine. It's not really the position we need depth at. I'd rather save that money and use it on Hill.
