Or build a new arena in Seattle or a surrounding city. I doubt Seattle will ever support building a new arena, but a city like Bellevue or Renton might.
Having a lot of pressure is a result of having a bad O-Line and no running game. Give Matt a good O-Line and a 1,000 yard rusher and he will complete passes to anyone who has decent hands regardless of how well he knows them.
I agree that he is better than Tebow and actually worth a 1st-round pick, but he's not going to be a great NFL QB. The Seahawks need a guy that can come in and play pretty quickly. Especially if Hasselbeck isn't re-signed.
If Locker can stand in the pocket more like he did his Senior year...
Locker might be available at our pick, but I read somewhere that the Vikings got a hard on when they saw Locker during the Combine.
I think the best thing to do is avoid taking Locker. He's basically a right handed Tebow (w/o the wins) and that's coming from a Huskies fan.
I think Carroll and Schneider are still high on Whitehurst. They will likely draft a QB, but Whitehurst will definitely be the #1 guy at the start of training camp.
Of course that's if Hasselbeck leaves.
10 years ago today the Seahawks acquired Matt Hasselbeck in a trade with the Green Bay Packers. I wonder if they'll give him a new contract for his 10th-year anniversary.
I'd love for Seattle to get a new expansion franchise. I don't want other teams' fans having to go through the same thing we did, unless that team happens to come from Oklahoma City.
The CBA is up on Thursday so they really don't have a lot of time to work out a new contract. From what I've been reading, the teams and players can still negotiate after the CBA expires, but only if the owners decide against a lockout.
