I wouldn't mind having Griffey back next year as long as he, and the team, understands that his spot in the line up isn't guaranteed and that he needs to perform offensively to keep it. The reunion was fun, but we're not going to win with the offense we had this year.
This one is tough for me. I love Griffey as much as anybody, and it was cool seeing him back in Seattle this year, but I don't necessarily want him back next year. Having a DH in the 4 spot hitting .219, with 16 HRs, and 50 RBI's isn't helping us get closer to the playoffs. This team...
The thing that irritates me the most is how they use Seneca. We have no chance of winning a game when he passes out of the pocket, but yet they insist on turning him into a pocket passer every time he comes in. Let the dude run around and make plays with his feet, that's the only way our...
If the Giants were smart, they'd go after him hard. Denver needs defensive players, and NY has the depth on defense to throw in a quality player and not have a noticeable drop off. I don't think it will happen, but the Giants would be scary if they were able to get Marshall.
Game 34 Update: Mariner's lose 3-2 after 8 scoreless innings pitched by Felix and Aardsma.
Morrow's now lost us 3 of the 10 games he's pitched in. 2 home runs and a double. But hey, at least he didn't walk anybody this game.
Morrow has pitched in 9 games so far this year, and has single handedly lost 2 of them for us. He has 10 walks to his 9 strikeouts. His ERA is 6.75. His WHIP is above league average for relief pitchers at 2.00. That is not a good pitcher. But I guess everything looks better through rose...
"In between his first outing and this one you guys weren't complaining too much about him... "
- You're right because it's not worth getting in this discussion every time he decides to walk to bases full with 2 outs in the 9th just to have his defense bail him out to give him the save.
"And we...
I want Morrow to be just as good as you all think he is. But the truth is, he's not. I'll say this again, just like I said last time we had this discussion. I'm not talking about how good he's going to be at the end of the year or 5 years from now, as of today, he's not a good closer. Not...
"I don't think he has all his velocity back yet."
- He was throwing 98mph. It's not his velocity, it's his control.
"It's his first blown save."
- Remember game 2?
It's now 33 games into the season, please name one game that Morrow has come in and you felt good about how he pitched. The...
How long does it take to realize that Morrow isn't a closer?
The first month was fun, now it's 2008 part 2. At least now Z won't have any reservations about trading away Beltre, Bedard, and Washburn at the deadline.
I would agree about our goaltending 100%. Nabokov is easily one of the most overrated players in the NHL. The guy makes the save of a lifetime just to a BS goal trickle the 5 hole on the next shot. Luckily, we've easily got the most talented team in the NHL this year so it wouldn't surprise...
Its not so much this series alone, but more of a lifetime achievement award for the Sharks. For 4 years now they dominate the regular season, and can't make it past the 2nd round. They owned everybody this year, its going to be absolutely pathetic if they go out in the first round vs an 8th seed.
Must be nice owning a team that you should be beating. My team (the Sharks), are flirting with the possibility of becoming chokers of historic proportions.
