I want to believe the Seahawks declined to sign him, but he signed with the Lions so quickly it doesn't seem like they were given a chance.
Hopefully someone can find out of the Seahawks offered him a contract or were even given time to beat the Lions offer.
According to ESPN's John Clayton, former Seahawks WR Nate Burleson has signed a 5-year deal with the Detroit Lions. It's a $25 million deal with $11 million guaranteed.
This really makes me think differently of Burleson. On Twitter he constantly kept saying how much he wanted to be a Seahawk...
If the Seahawks throw in a draft pick it could help get a 3rd. Probably something like a 6th or 7th.
I do have a bad feeling that Branch will go back to the Patriots and be successful. He has success with Brady and that offensive scheme then he came to Seattle with a new scheme, new...
I'm expecting the Seahawks to make a lot of moves. Hopefully they can trade Branch for a quality player or a 3rd round pick. They also need to re-sign Burleson, Sims, Malloy, and Ken Lucas.
Not taking a QB is a good idea. This year we can beef up the line in the draft and free agency. Then when we do get around to a new young QB he won't be behind a horrible line. He will have time to throw and the run game will be good.
Brady wants Branch back and Branch wants to go play for the Patriots. I wondering if the Seahawks could get a 3rd round pick since the Patriots want to make Brady happy.
The Rams were the only team that could have used Bradford. Right now I'd say the Cardinals or Vikings could draft him. Both lost their starting QBs (I don't think Favre will come back) and the QBs they have left on the roster aren't that great.
Those are the real heights, weights, arm lengths and hand lengths from the Combine. Go click on their names.
Bruce Campbell was listed as 6'7 and 310 pounds. Now he's listed as 6'6 and 314 pounds.
Tim Tebow was listed as 6'3 and 245 pounds. Now he's listed as 6'3 and 236 pounds.
I'm fine with getting a QB later on in the draft as well. I don't think getting a QB with the first 3 picks in the draft is the best thing for the Seahawks. Getting someone later on or even in 2011 seems like the best case scenario.
