    Are you really defending DUIs? Because that's what it sounds like. Scary. Regardless, one more incident and Marshall is suspended and whatever team he is on is screwed for a year. That fact seems to keep eluding people.

    Of course the Jets could match the offer. Jones was an Unrestricted Free Agent. Any team in the league could have matched the offer. The Jets had no rights to him. Jones took a pay cut by signing with the Chiefs. Had the Jets not cut him, he would have cost more than LT.

    This is not accurate. Thomas Jones was due a $3 million roster bonus and $2.8 million in base salary for 2010. Jones' total salary for this season would be $5.8 million v. Tomlinson's $5.1 million over 2010 and 2011.

    I just see it as creating another hole that didn't really need to be created - especially in an uncapped year. Couldn't we have at least gotten a 7th rounder for him? :haha:

    You have to consider his behavior off the field in a big way. Not necessarily because you want that good character stuff that Ruskell touted, but because Marshall is one incident away from a year suspension by the league. That's a big deal to me because that will affect my team ON the field.

    I agree with that. I don't think the owners (at least the ones of which I am aware of their financial situation (i.e. Paul Allen)) are very hard pressed to see the revenue from their teams. They have income sources far greater than an NFL team.

    Don't blame DeMaurice anymore. I understand you don't like the guy, which is totally fine, but the players are very clearly behind him (which is what I have said all along).

    Frankly, I don't really care what happens because it is all absurd to me. I can watch college football just as easily. But it takes two to tango and I do not feel blaming DeMaurice Smith for everything is accurate.
