Mark: You're on point. Glad you spoke up about the LT situation. This is really going out on a limb, but I think Polumbus will play better than Carpenter for the near future. Just a guess really. Number 18: I don't know the actual answer, but Holmgren did point out holdouts equate...

Who will you be most interested in watching ?

My on topic pick for the Minnesota game is...Ricardo Lockette with his 4.2 second 40 yard dash speed. It's way to easy to see opposing teams cheating towards the line of scrimmage all season long without a player like this on the roster.

Nobody said that Okung is faking the injury, nor would he have been drafted so high if he had missed games to ankle sprains during his collegiate career. He most likely got some very bad advice from his agent at the beginning of his initial draft-contract negotiations with the Seahawks. You...

@Mark: I'm as frustrated with the Okung situation as you are. I remember Holmgren talking about the next great d-lineman & first round draft pick, Lamar King (paraphase) "When rookies hold out, then they get thrown in so that they can get up to speed, and then they get injured and don't play."...

94: You have probably seen quite a lot in those eight years I imagine. No harm done. You're pretty cool. Thanks for the re-invite to the site.

94: I'm not being condesending or antagonistic. Did I play on words, and stick up for people named Bob? I did. I said you make things interesting, and I meant it. I thought you made the site a lot of fun, but befor I make an enemy, I'll leave.

Seattlehawk94: You make things interesting, but you also help validate my point too. Barry Sanders type of impact RBs are a very rare commodity. If your team isn't that lucky, then the next option is to get five quality Bobs upfront. It's worth noting that Barry didn't have the five quality...

Browner & Sherman are likely to get picked on just as much this year if they play. All rookie CBs get tested, bested, and abused, still though I'd take them for their upside potential & see what Kris Richard can do with them. What can it hurt?

    Back to the A-B-C’s

Seahawks will lose a game eventually, and Pete Carroll will say that he is "Excited!" Tony Ventrella will still tell us that the "Play of the Day" during practice was turned in by Golden Tate or Deon Butler! Neither of them can run routes correct enough to play on Sundays! Brock Huard will...

HawksFan1987: You nailed it pretty good in regards to the RB situation. There's one topic that I'd add, and I would like to get some feadback on it if possible... During the 1980s we saw many RBs that could leap horizontally over the line of scrimmage and pick up short yardage gains of 1-3...

Josh Portis: He didn't just look good all by himself either. The entire offense looked like they were using the same playbook as him. I haven't seen anything quite like it since Dave Kreig came to town. Third stringers...Sure! That just adds to the difficulty. RB Thomas Clayton is likely...

Neither of these tackles Okung & Carpenter have ever played a 16 game NFL season before, so if Okung can't stay healthy and Carpenter is an unknown, does the team have to carry four+ OTs going into the season? What other position group gets short changed? I hope this doesn't become the same...

I believe it was Danny O'Neil on KJR 950 that said it appears to him Walter Thurmond is penciled in as the starter, but Jennings is playing while Thurmond rehabs from injury. Also just checked the current depth chart listed on the Seahawks site & it shows Walter Thurmond as the starter, with...

Who will you be most interested in watching ?

#ONE: Keeping things in perspective for a moment...Polumbus is a backup tackle, and he fills that role really well imo. I'd rather have a healthy Okung our on the field starting every game, but questions about his ability to play keep popping up. You're right though, Polumbus did blow that...

O-line with Polumbus (I'm becoming a fan of Polumbus), then the SeaGals with Okung (I like the SeaGals better).

The Phillip Rivers first quarter score came down to this: First play, great stop by Mebane & Hawthorne. Next came a forty-eight yard gain by Rivers who burned either #21 Kelly Jennings, or #22 Josh Pinkard (I'm not sure which). Then back to back poor plays by Leroy Hill. He didn't contain...

It didn't feel like a dominating performance to me when I was watching the Charger game last night, but then I woke up and looked at the stats from the Seahawks site and compared them to last pre-season...HOLY SHIT, what a difference! During the 2010 pre-season: Seattle had 60 first downs...

I'm hoping this thread starts to take off now, so regarding the first preseason game against a better than average team in the Chargers...The Seahawks gave up zero rushing first downs for the entire game. Impressive!

Portis looked like he belonged out there. Here's the QB ratings from the Seahawks Site: Portis 117.4 (Steller) Whitehurst 84.4 (Very good) Jackson 64.6 (Not good) It's too early to be important, but you have to start evaluating from some point of reference.

"My issue is consistency..." Which usually happens when you have a good offensive line! I'm not expecting miracles tonight though, as it's way to early yet. Actually expect the d-line to probably outperform the offense. There's usually what I refer to as a "Talent Exchange" that just happens...
