Baseball is a stat sport no argue there. But it cannot be explained by stats. Baseball is a game of reaction and flow, something statistics cannot explain. Stats should be used to show how well a player is doing...not why a player does this or that (if that makes any sense...hard to explain my...

    Jake Locker

I agree with what you are saying and have all along. I just think when you put it in terms of "learning" accuracy it makes it sound wishy washy. You learn and improve fundementals such as: footwork, throwing motion, posture, etc. Improving these fundementals improves accuracy so when someone...

John Clayton and Chris Berman take the game of football for what it is. They do not try and justify everything that happens with an equation or stat. That is the difference between them and sabermetrics "nerds".

Im with 94 on this one fellas. The nerds that use sabermetrics are people that could never play the game and try to justify everything that happens in baseball by some math equation. Anyone that has played baseball their whole lives knows that those stats are worthless. Sometimes you get your...

espn's first mock (with us in it anyways)

Bro try reading for once. I never once claimed how great Locker or Kappernick were. Not once have I praised them on how great they were. In fact I believe I actually said I do not want them to take any QB in the first round...INCLUDING LOCKER. I just said they have higher ceilings and clear...

    Shaun Rogers now a FA.

Ya I agree, but it is also nice to have a player with that kind of mean streak on your line. Most of the headache this year was about him not wanting to play NT in a 3-4, he wouldn't have to worry about that here. Pete is a players coach, I think if anyone could make it work it's him.

    Shaun Rogers now a FA.

I know this is a little off topic but it is about another DT. I just read that the Redskins may be willing to take as low as a 7th round pick for Albert Haynesworth. Obviously they will get more than that, but it is not crazy to think a team could give up a 5th for him right now. The Skins have...

espn's first mock (with us in it anyways)

Do you understand what having a high ceiling means? It refers to potential from having the physical tools to be great. It doesn't refer to how polished he is right now. I have seen him play multiple times. He has a cannon of an arm and runs a 4.4 forty. Accuracy, throwing motion, staring down...

No, was just saying because I am pretty sure that is where 94 was coming from. When you talk about RB's you don't just include rushing stats.

espn's first mock (with us in it anyways)

I wasn't bashing Ponder in any way and haven't said we should draft Locker. I agree that out of all of the QB's in this years draft, he may be the most NFL ready right now. That doesn't mean he should be the first QB off the board. He has hit his potential as a QB, he has a low ceiling. He makes...

espn's first mock (with us in it anyways)

From what I have been reading, there is more to Mallet than just getting into a little trouble. It is surfacing that he is a coke head. Im hearing he is almost certain to drop out of the first round and may slide all the way to round 3. He is drawing a lot of comparisson to both Ryan Leaf and...

I'm pretty sure they are giving them the blame for his failings. Once Hutch left and the O-Line wasn't as good, SA did nothing really and actually had to deal with getting hit which he obviously didn't like too much.

espn's first mock (with us in it anyways)

Ya he did have a good season, who knows what the Bills do though they are pretty unpredictable. There are other teams that pick at the top of the second that may do that. Just a thought, I wouldn't be opposed to it at all unless there was an absolute stud that was a must have still there at 25...

espn's first mock (with us in it anyways)

I honestly think if the right guy doesn't fall to us at 25, we may trade out of the 1st round completely and pick up another 2nd and a 3rd. It would make sense for a team at the top of the 2nd (Bills, Bengals, Cardinals, Titans) to trade up and grab a QB like Locker if they didn't draft a QB...

    Who to Draft.

That is because Trufant isn't a # 1 corner anymore. He had to guard the teams #1 wr all year. If we had Nnamdi, obviously Tru wouldn't be guarding teams #1's anymore. He would be much more successful, so I don't get your logic here.

    Official CBA Thread

I guess what I was trying to say is the owners were prepared for this to happen. If a lockout happens, players don't get paid...period. It is more likely they budge than the owners. IMO the owners are willing to drag this on as long as it has to go because they are prepared for a lockout.
