    Holmgren Turns Down Seahawks Offer

Unless you were in the room, you really have no idea what happened. Maybe it was a PR move by the Seahawks, maybe it wasn't. Maybe the golden boy Holmgren was creating a market for himself to drive up the price. None of us know what really happened, and none of us should care. He's gone...

    Holmgren Turns Down Seahawks Offer

This statement alone discredits everything you've said.

    SEAHAWKS AT PACKERS

Agreed. As well as our defensive line, secondary, and running backs.

10 Candidates Emerge as Ruskell's Replacement

There's some quality guys on that list. Keim, Licht, Heckert. I like it.

    M's Trade Morrow to Jays

If it's true that we are getting Brandon League, and Johermyn Chavez, this will be the first Jack Z deal that I don't like. Morrow has issues, but he's a major league ready starter who can still develop into a quality pitcher if you put some time into him. Getting a reliever, and a below...

    Holmgren about to do everything?!

When can this topic be dead? Holmgren went to Cleveland. Get over it. The good news is that he didn't invent the game of football, and there are plenty of people available to take the job. In fact, there are plenty of people who can, dare I say, do a better job than Holmgren. This outcome...

    Carlos Silva Traded

Silva straight up for Milton Bradley. Z managed to turn a terrible, overpaid baseball player with no real spot on the M's into an overpaid douche bag who will actually help this team win games. And he saved $3 million. This isn't quite as awesome as the Lee trade, but I still love it. Plus...

    Cliff Lee to the M's?

Bay would not be worth the $15 million per year it would take to sign him. His defense sucks, and Safeco would make his offensive numbers drop. There's better options out there, and I'm pretty sure Z will find them.

    Cliff Lee to the M's?

Yeah we totally screwed the Phillies on that one. I'm pretty excited to see what Z pulls off next.

    end of season - hopes

I'm kind of hoping that Holmgren signs on with Cleveland, and I hope he does it soon. Then the Seahawks front office can search for the best GM candidate available without the pressure from the cult-like Holmgren followers. A person's name shouldn't give them an advantage, their ability should.

    Cliff Lee to the M's?

It's Aumont, Gillies, and Ramirez. This is absolute robbery. Worst case scenario is we get to watch the best pitching duo in the league for a year, Lee leaves in free agency, and we get 2 drafts picks to replace the prospects we gave up. I don't understand why the Phillies would want to make...

    Cliff Lee to the M's?

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/1052 ... lockbuster There is a lot of craziness surrounding this deal right now, but as far as I can see, everyone expects the M's to get Cliff Lee. If this turns out to be true, and the best prospect we gave up to make it happen was Phillipe Aumont, I'd be...

    All about the draft now

You've got to be kidding right? Nothing to do with talent? Even with terrible coaching, good football players make good football plays on personal ability alone. Where were those good plays today? Where were the talented defensive players when Schaub was throwing for 300 yards in the first...

Papa John's is donating 100% of their profits from their Western Washington locations on Tuesday Dec. 8th and Wednesday Dec. 9th to the families of the Lakewood police officers. So if you're looking for some food on these days, give these guys a try.

M's Staying quiet about Free Agency

http://blog.thenewstribune.com/mariners ... not-today/ That article makes me nervous. Being a Seattle sports fan, I'm conditioned to assume the worst. I can just see the M's waiting til Monday to sign the deal, then Beltre declining arb and the Angels making a late push and keeping Figgins.

M's Staying quiet about Free Agency

Besides the spelling of his first name, I love everything about Figgins. He's fits perfectly with what Z's trying to do, and weakens the Angels at the same time. Plus, getting a +3 WAR guy for around $9 million a year (the proposed deal is 4yrs/$35mil) is a heck of a good deal.

    The Dream Team?

Holmgren's FA's were decent but nothing stellar. Either way, you build championship teams through the draft and supplement your core with free agents. So if you have a GM who can't draft, you're not going to find sustained success. Just ask the Redskins.

    The Dream Team?

Trufant wasn't drafted by Holmgren. Holmgren's drafts sucked. In 4 years, you need to be able to draft more than 2 stars. Read this article, it may open your eyes to how average of a GM Holmgren really was. http://sea.scout.com/2/816748.html
