My picks for the last two were Obomanu and Bumpus. So, right now I'm hoping that Obo and Hass can get the last two spots. The coaches will have the WRs battling for the last two spots the whole game on Thursday. Should be a great game to watch.
Re: Game Thread: Have you hated a Raider today?
Typically the 4th game is only backups and players fighting for a spot, but if any of them need the extra game time they can play.
Michael Bumpus was released by the Seahawks today. Which leaves Jordan Kent, Ben Obomanu, Logan Payne, Courtney Taylor and Mike Hass battling for the last 2 spots.
Re: Game Thread: Have you hated a Raider today?
This year it will be Mike Teel (Maybe Seneca) and Jeff Rowe at QB along with Justin Forsett and Devin Moore at HB. I heard Edge may play if he wants to, but if he doesn't want to they won't put him in.
If Matt ever goes down the Seahawks are lucky to have Wallace as a backup. I'd say he's better than 8 or 9 starting QBs right now in the NFL, but he's no Matt Hasselbeck.
They just don't want to risk him getting injured. I'm sure if we're down and they need a huge conversion they would do a trick play to get it. Maybe the same play that Branch/Housh have done where they run the reverse, stop and throw the ball down field. With Wallace wearing 15 and not exactly...
I love how you guys have the Seahawks taking a OT and then a WR in the 1st round. They don't need a WR at all...
I also love how you have the Seahawks being the 12th pick in the draft...
Anyone here?
Running game is looking weak, but J.J. just ran for 9 yards then about 7 more so I could be wrong. There is a difference though, Schmitt isn't the FB.
Yeah, so far with Griffith the running game is looking good.
The first roster cutdown is on September 1st which is a 75 man roster. Then on September 5th it gets cutdown to the final roster of 53.
Latest Transactions:
8/25:
Brian De La Puente acquired from waivers.
Edgerrin James signed (one-year contract).
Grey Ruegamer cut.
T.J. Duckett cut.
8/9...
With a short contract worth $2 million it shows that the Seahawks don't have confidence that he will be the Edge of old, but will be an upgrade over Duckett.
I will say you were right if you are and most of the time you are. :)
4 fumbles is a lot, especially since he didn't get a lot of carries for the season. If it helps, Adrian Peterson fumbled the ball 9 times in '08 and 4 times in '07. :D
