I disagree that he will not do anything. Same with Griffey. I think Housh will do more than Griffey, but Griffey already has done a ton outside of the stats column. Just because it is not tangible, does not mean it is worthless.
I know you use it to fill holes. But I do not think we have the cap room to throw around on FAs that may or may not work out - especially with the coin we are going to have to toss at the #4 pick in the draft.
Personally, I could care less about either of the two people who have left...
I have never been a big fan of free agency. What do you want to be? The Redskins? I have never seen a dynasty that goes crazy in free agency. Conversely, most dynasties understand who their core players are and get deals done with them before they even are faced with the choice of free agency.
It isn't like he as the back up the entire time (I think only the maybe 1/2 of the 2007 season, max). And it isn't like he lost the starting job to some shitty running back.
I do NOT want Willis to leave. Weaver I do not want to leave either, but if he does, I hope to God he goes outside of the division. Otherwise, we get to play yet another FA mistake twice a year...
I hate this bullshit. I would love to calculate the inflation rate of NFL salaries. I guarantee the rest of the world's salaries do not even come close.
And who pays for it? The fans, of course.
I am more curious not to who we get, but rather who does not leave. I would like to retain Ray Willis and Leonard Weaver. I do agree that it will give us a hint as to which way we go in the draft.
I guess "performing so well" and being the clear cut leader are two different things to me. You can be the clear cut leader of a group of shitty players, but that does not mean you are any good.
He was on the WSU football team. That in and of itself is enough to drop you several rounds. He did have two touchdowns, which I believe is how many the whole team scored the entire season.
