Seahawks add tight end Michael Palmer

The Seattle Seahawks announced the signing of former Atlanta Falcons tight end Michael Palmer just a day prior to the team reporting for the start of training camp.
Palmer spent his first three seasons in the league with the Falcons after going undrafted out of Clemson in 2010. Palmer appeared in 43 games with the Falcons and caught 21 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns.
Palmer boosts the depth of the Seahawks’ tight end position than has become somewhat thin following the loss of Anthony McCoy to an Achilles tear during OTAs. Behind starter Zach Miller, Sean McGrath is the only other player on the roster that had played in a regular season NFL game. Luke Willson was drafted in the fifth round in April to provide a down-field threat for Seattle but is still unproven.
Cooper Helfet spent time on the practice squad last season but Victor Marshall and Darren Fells are undrafted free agent signings. Fells has been a professional basketball player and has not played football since high school.
To make room for Palmer, the Seahawks released safety Ray Polk.

Should make a great blocker he looks pretty beefy for a TE. At least he has some snaps. Wonder how his speed is.

Curious to see Luke Willson.
