any news on how any of the contract negotiations are going for any of the rookies? Especially Curry

Curry, Butler and Unger are the three remaining un-signed rookies. First-round rookies normally start neogatiotaitng (sp.) this week. With camps opening up as early as next week this will be the time they start to talk deals. Curry's signing could be waited until the Chiefs sign a deal. The Jets already have signed Sanchez so it's all about waiting for the Chiefs to sign until they know the terms to neogiate. Butler and Unger most likely could sign by Wednesday so they're in camp in time.

I am just curious, how often do the big name rookie, not end up signing with the team that drafted them... if ever?

It seems like a lot of these big name rookies hold out for big $, but end up getting signed eventually.

Very few only one who truly comes to my mind... Bo Jackson 1986 1st overall pick by Tampa Bay. Didn't want to play for them so he never signed. John Elway also did same with the Colts, but attempted a career in the MLB with the Yankees.

But how does that work? Can other teams not sign them?

For example, say I am a highly sought after rookie, who wants to go to a team different from the one that drafted him. So he talks to his agent to seek out a deal with the other team and agree that they will sign him after he doesn't sign with the team that drafts him.

What happens in a scenario like that?

The team that drafts them has the rights to sign them, in order for another team they need to work a trade.. For example Eli manning was originally drafted by the Chargers, but he didn't want to play there so they worked out a trade.

Well Jackson and Elway both went in the Supplemental rounds. Teams do have a dead-line in which they have to sign him. If he didn't want to play for that team he holds out and then come that day he is eligible for the Supplemental Draft in July.
