TNT is reporting that Seattle had to tag Hill after he turned down their 6-year $36mill offer to him. I would have let him walk after he turned it down. Let him see that he's not worth more then $7 mill if that. I'm pretty shocked actually Ruskell tagged him. I think Ruskell didn't want another...
Tim Ruskell: We’ve made a decision and we’re franchising Leroy Hill, the non-exclusive portion of that. And our reasoning is we’ve been negotiating and that’s gone well. We’re not done. I wouldn’t even say we’re exactly close, but it’s been good-faith negotiating, and this allows us to keep...
thanks szat.
Yeah I don't think he is top 5 LB either. However I guess I would rather be compensated if we do lose him then gain nothing. I am afraid this might just turn out to be a huge hit on the cap and we will be at same square come next year.
JJ led the team in rushing yards. I think he will be better if he knows he is the guy and doesn't have to worry about anything other then playing the game.
I e-mailed Clare and gotten a reply here is the convo:
Clare-
Do we know if a deal is close? Has one been really discussed? Obviously they've discussed deals, but is there one they are close on just missing a few terms or years? Also with his arrest the NFL is liable to suspend him for a game...
Here's my thoughts:
Pros- our core stays together. Hill is underrated on that core and a huge reason he has had success that has led up to his tagging today. Will keep our defense on the same page and a young LB core (Minus Peterson). Seems to always turn it up in the playoffs.
Cons- Never...
Carolina- Julius Peppers, DE
Houston- Dunta Robinson, CB
St. Louis- Oshiomogho Atogwe, S
The deadline is just two hours away and Titans Bo Scaife could also be designated soon.
The Peppers tag came because they were able to agree with a six-year deal with OL Jordan Gross.
Seattle has beat the 4 p.m. deadline for tagging players with the franchise designation. The Seahawks have placed the tag on LB Leroy Hill. He will make $8.34 mill if a long-term deal isn't reached and that will count against their salary cap this year.
Hill has never played a full season since...
haha yeah I'm not a big video game guru. They bore me after a short period. I enjoy reading... shockingly, but if I find a good sports book wow it's hard for me to put it down... I know loser lol.
